Flexible Learning

First Door facilitates Flexible learning to students throughout Queensland.  We partner with you to be your best professionally, no matter where you live in Queensland, with:

  • inspiring and helpful resources and assessment guides for each unit of study
  • interactions and collaboration with students completing the same unit
  • zoom meetings with your personal mentor to share information
  • study support
  • practical assessments so you can put your learning into practice as you complete each assessment workbook

Structured or Flexi Training Plans

Our structured training plan provides students with a monthly timetable to work through course unit/s each month from January to November. The structured training plan has unit start dates and due dates to assist students to stay focused and motivated. If you live in Brisbane and nearby surrounds, you will enjoy participating in regular, inspiring workshops to start each unit and to engage with other Directors and Managers focusing on being their best.

The Flexi training plan suits students that are using Flexible learning and/or are eligible for credit transfers or RPL course units. With this flexi training plan, you need  to be self-motivated and prefer flexibility to set your own assesment due dates. 

  

Where can the Diploma of Leadership and Management take you?

The Diploma of Leadership and Management is a nationally recognised qualification and the units relate to the leadership and management skills required in the National Quality Standard Quality Area 7: Governance and Leadership. You will be equipped to step up your career with opportunities, such as:

  • Senior leadership role within the Early Childhood sector
  • Outside School Hours Care Coordinator
  • Early Childhood Centre Director or Manager
  • Operations Manager or Senior management role within the Early Childhood sector
  • Owning or managing your own Early Childhood service

 

What will you learn?

Students studying the Diploma of Leadership and Management with First Door will:

Our Course Structure

At First Door, the twelve units that form the Diploma of Leadership and Management course are groupes into three related parts:

  • Planning
  • Organising and monitoring 
  • Leading

First Door has rolling enrolment for when it suits you to get started in your course, at any point in the year from January to November. Students get started on the relevant unit that commences following enrolment, and your training plan is built from your start date. You have up to two years to complete this course, but most students complete the course within 12 months.
