EDUCATIONAL LEADERS COURSE

Skills for emerging leadersThis course is designed to inspire and support Educational Leaders in their role; with a series of seven monthly workshops, workplace projects, five workplace mentoring meetings and a centre tour to visit three centres rated Exceeding or Excellent. This course invites collaboration and networking amongst Educational Leaders, and supports their professional growth in leadership. Starting on 21st March, each workshop starts at 8.30am - 12pm.
Please note: Workshop only bookings are waitlisted and confirmed providing places allow, as Educational Leader course bookings take priority.

1. Educational Leader essentials: role, qualities and goals

MAR 21: at 8.30am - 12pm
This first workshop enables a clear focus to set meaningful goals for your role as an Educational Leader. Your new professional network will engage in conversations to explore legislative requirements and the myths and facts around documentation. We discuss leadership gifts so that you can reflect on your own strengths and weaknesses to develop.

2. Inspiring the direction of the curriculum: current trends

 APR 18: at 8.30am - 12pm
Be prepared for fresh and inspiring trends and information to take back to your team. Includes workplace mentoring meeting with your First Door mentor.

Centre tour & networking for Educational Leaders

MAY 19: Together we explore the environments and the Educational Program and Practice at three centres rated Exceeding or Excellent.

3. QA1 Critical reflection: using multiple viewpoints for continuous improvement 

MAY 23: at 8.30am - 12pm
Critically reflect from multiple viewpoints on the requirements for best practice in QA1. Consider ways to use a team approach on the Quality Improvement Plan. Includes workplace mentoring meeting with your First Door mentor.

 

4. Promoting a culture of enquiry: professional conversations, feedback and reflective practice

JUN 20: at 8.30am - 12pm
We explore ways to build trust in your team and open up a culture of reflective practice and enquiry, so that your team can work collaboratively towards continuous improvement in QA1 Educational Program and Practice. Learn how to get comfortable with giving and receiving feedback, and to empower others to as well. Includes workplace mentoring meeting with your First Door mentor.

5. Creating a workplace learning community and knowledge sharing 

JUL 18: at 8.30am - 12pm
This practical workshop explores the EYLF Principles and Practices, while you identify people's strengths in a team. Explore how to share knowledge more effectively to suit people's different learning styles. Includes workplace mentoring meeting with your First Door mentor.

6. Support growth with workplace coaching and mentoring 

AUG 22: at 8.30am - 12pm
Learn how to facilitate a mentoring relationship and ways to support coaching of skills in the workplace. You will develop a mentoring plan and how to monitor its effectiveness. Includes workplace mentoring meeting with your First Door mentor.

7. Connections, emotional intelligence and wellbeing

SEP 12: at 8.30am - 12pm
Learn mindfulness techniques and unpack triggers and reactions in the workplace to consider better responses. Become inspired with ways to build connections, emotional intelligence and wellbeing in your team.
