Three approaches to support depth in team LEARNING, PRACTICE, and REFLECTION
to develop shared pedagogy and to evolve together.
QUALITY AREA 1
Our quality facilitator inspires and supports your team of educators to deepen understanding of QA1 requirements and the intention of EYLF V2.0 to guide principles and practices, including planning for children's progress in the five learning outcomes.
As a team you will explore and step up in quality practice, including:
- embedding slow pedagogy in everyday curriculum, with understanding of: the child as a capable learner, unrushed play-based learning, meaningful and child-centred routines for authentic learning, rituals, small group interactions, and the roles of an intentional educator
- observing and capture meaningful documentation to understand each child and their learning progress in the five outcomes
- using raw documentation - recording children's ideas, questions, inquiry, and learning in a group learning book
- planning and evaluating the child-centred curriculum
- working collaboratively to implement and reflect on the educational program and practice
This is achieved through our quality facilitator's guidance with:
1. Fortnightly practice coaching, for 3 months
Practice coaching sessions are from 3.5 hours - 5 hours, depending on the size of the team, to provide opportunities:- for observationsof practice, program and documentation, leading to feedback, and reflective conversations
- for practice coaching alongside educators, modelling practice and use of meaningful documentation
- to support educators' intentionality in the curriculum planning cycle and documentation
- for conversations and feedback with educators to inform monthly team reflections.
2. Monthly team learning and reflection for 90 minutes at your team meetings, for 3 months
To support the team's shared understanding, reflection, ideas, and agreement for quality improvement in QA1 Educational program and practice.
3. Two years access to Transform QA1 Educational Program - Team learning toolkit
The toolkit includes 2 years' team share access for the service leader and access to these three online courses for educators:
