Educational Leaders series: leading inspired educational program and practice

This course is designed for Educational Leaders to share insights and to develop fresh ideas, inspiration and skills. Participants enjoy a new professional network over these four monthly workshops and through our online portal for resources and collaboration. Each of these four workshops has a workplace project to shift learning into action within the team.

FEB 25: Educational Leader essentials: role, qualities and goals
This first workshop enables a clear focus on your role to set meaningful goals as an Educational Leader. We discuss leadership gifts so that you can reflect on your own strengths and weaknesses to develop. You will engage in conversations to explore legislative requirements and the myths and facts around documentation.

MAR 25: Inspiring and leading the direction of the curriculum: current trends
Be prepared for fresh and inspiring trends and information to take back to your team. We explore:
o Reggio – 100 languages and project-based learning
o Schema and loose parts
o Bush kindy/forest schools
o Documentation cycle and summative assessment
o NQS QA1: Assessors may observe, sight and discuss

APR 29: Building a culture of enquiry and quality improvement: using critical reflection and the QIP
We explore ways to build trust in your team and open up a culture
of reflective practice and enquiry, so that your team can work collaboratively towards quality improvement in QA1.
o Learn how to get comfortable with giving and receiving feedback, and to empower others to as well
o Critically reflect from multiple viewpoints on requirements/best practice in QA1
o Consider ways to use a team approach on the Quality Improvement Plan

MAY 27: Creating a workplace learning community and knowledge sharing: being a coach and mentor
This practical workshop explores the EYLF Principles and Practices, while you identify people’s strengths in a team.
Develop your skills in how to:
o share knowledge more effectively to suit people’s different learning styles
o facilitate a mentoring relationship and ways to support coaching of skills in your workplace
o develop skills in effective coaching and mentoring
