EARLY CHILDHOOD TEAM WORKSHOPS

Interactive workshops for your Early Childhood team 

The workshops focus on a practical approach to bridge understanding of the National Quality Framework into educator's everyday practice. We encourage participants to reflect on their own practice and consider how the information can be used to improve practice.

Our workshops for Early Childhood teams are grouped under the following categories:

>  INSPIRED EDUCATOR WORKSHOPS 

  • Using the Early Years Learning Framework to guide practice
  • Planning a child-centred curriculum with learning through play
  • Develop cultural competence



>  PUTTING PURPOSE INTO DOCUMENTATION

This workshop series is over two workshops:

  • Session 1: Putting purpose into documentation for children's learning
  • Session 2: Use information to identify children's strengths, interests, knowledge and abilities to plan the educational program


>  ENVIRONMENT AND EXPERIENCES WORKSHOPS 

  • Create engaging environments and experiences 
  • Promote children's agency
  • Nurture creativity in children

Nature play, challenge and embedding sustainability

This workshop series is over two workshops:

  • Session 1: Nature play: promoting an appreciation of the natural environment and sustainability
  • Session 2: Provide challenge for learning, appropriate risk and manage hazards




>   DEVELOPING COOPERATIVE BEHAVIOUR 

This workshop series is over two workshops:

  • Session 1: Refocus approach, understand patterns of behaviour and guide children to self regulate behaviour 
  • Session 2: Review influences on behaviour, plan goals and strategies forwards

 



>  PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE WORKSHOPS

  • Tools to critically evaluate and reflect on practice
  • Develop a team approach to the Quality Improvement Plan and continuous improvement
  • Identify and respond to children at risk

 

Workbooks and follow on learning for improved practice

Each participant receives their own workbook with templates for follow on practice from these workshops. First Door has an Early Childhood Facebook page to invite further learning and inspiration. Continued exposure to ideas for improved practice support ongoing changes in attitudes and actions to further develop your team’s capability.

Team professional development workshop fee

  • For groups up to 20 people the fee is $400 for each two-hour workshop. There is an additional fee of $30 per person for each workshop for over 20 people and up to 26 people. 
  • For larger groups please contact us for a quote.
  • We travel within a 1 hour radius of North Lakes at no additional charge. Travel costs are able to be discussed and arranged to enable First Door to come to your team.

Series of eight workshops

When a series of eight workshops is booked and paid in advance the final workshop is at no charge. Select your choice of eight workshops to best meet your team's professional development needs. These are then booked on suitable dates so that the workshop content flows in a logical order and to suit the priority of your team's needs. 

Series of eight workshops - Option 1: Four Saturday morning workshops from 9am – 1.30pm

Series of eight workshops - Option 2: Two hour workshops delivered over eight arranged sessions
